Part of Fringe (scratch night)
Monday 14th March | 7pm @ The Barefoot Playground (Part of Things)
Performance works in progress by local writers, presented as part of Adelaide Fringe.
This event is a scratch night, showing new (theatre) works in progress at an early stage. Each piece will be read by the writer and/or their chosen performer/s. Snacks and cups of tea and chats afterwards.

Paint and Play

Kids painting workshop with Riverland Youth Theatre.
“Come and paint with Alannah from Sprig Art! Get creative, get messy and have fun while making something beautiful with your friends! Bring clothes you can get paint on, a drink and we’ll supply the rest!”

P.O.T LUCK (open mic)
Friday 29th April | 2pm @ The Barefoot Playground (Part of Things) | Ages 15+
A night of mischief, mistakes, and mediocrity.
Nothing presented is expected to be perfect – or even rehearsed. This is an opportunity to test out new material, to show off a work-in-progress, read the rambles in your notes app, to practice performing and public speaking in a chill, judgment-free environment.
This is a celebration of fucking up, with a spotlight on the process of performance. A smorgasbord of spoken word, new local music, comedy skits, monologues, burlesque, emerging drag queens, and nervous farts.

Centenary Reimagined – Proud to be Here – Digital Projection

A creative response to the 2021 centenaries of Barmera and Glossop.
The Glossop response features archival footage, oral history interviews and photography collected by members of the Glossop Centenary Committee. The Barmera response is a short poem and visual response by Alysha Herrmann, including photos from the Berri Barmera Library Digital Collection.
Both artworks will be playing on the side of the Bonney Theatre on a loop throughout May as part of the South Australia History Festival.
Proud To Be Here is a project of the Barmera and Glossop Centenaries, created by Part of Things, and supported by the Berri Barmera Council through the Centenary Grants Program.

First Delvers (beginner Dungeons & Dragons)

Seven week series of Dungeons and Dragons workshops for beginners.
When: Wednesdays starting 18th May and finishing 29th June.
Time: 4:15pm – 6:30pm each week.
Who: for young people aged 10-14 interested in Dungeons and Dragons, fantasy and/or storytelling.
Cost: $70 + booking fee (equivalent to $10 per session).

A space to write, draw, scream, jump and cry about all the things that make up your fandom. Come along and write, draw, make and talk about all the things that make you love everything about your favorite fandom.

SALA Exhibition 2022: welcome to the lands of the river
August 2022 | The Barefoot Playground | All ages
An exhibition of illustrations for the South Australian Living Artists Festival.
The lands of the river are an original fantasy universe conceived in the Riverland through Alysha Herrmann’s 2021 Regional Arts Australia Fellowship. This exhibition showcases a series of illustrations by Adelaide-based collaborator Sam Wannan bringing to life the worlds, creatures and stories created so far. Community members of all ages are invited to submit their own interpretations of the lands of the river, with selected contributions added to the exhibition throughout August. This exhibition is one part of the ongoing project to develop and explore this new fantasy universe as a longterm project in the Riverland for all ages to enjoy.

Cosy Hangout Nights
Friday 17th June, 15th July & 19th August | 8pm start @ The Barefoot Playground (Part of Things) | Ages 15+
Cuddle up with a warm drink and your oodie this winter!
Cosy Hangout Nights are a time for writers to work on their draft, readers to finish their book, gamers to progress to the next level and introverts to nest in a gentle, low-social environment.
With help from a few blankets, pillows and fairy-lights strewn across Part of Things, we’ll spend some no-pressure, quiet-floor-time together.
