World Mental Health Day

Today is an important day.

1 in 5 Australians 16-85 will experience a mental health issue in any given year. I think 2020 and COVID will increase this statistic.

To care for my mental health today I spent lots of quality time with my amazing girlfriend. I snuggled 2 tiny puppys I met while in the street, Bud and Ed. And I ate delicious food.

The highlight of my day was participating in the event Part of Things hosted; Sound Walk with Dr Jesse Budel (a very cool young guy) After an introduction from Jesse about our anticipated experience, our small group strolled around Barmera in silence for an hour to take in the soundscape around us.

It was amazing.

Listening to the layers of sound; industrial, human and natural. I took in more sounds, smells and sensations in that hour that I have in any other single hour in my recollection.

Thank you Dr Jesse and Alysha.

I’m going to spend the rest of today with my love and some yummy food…

Take care of yourselves.

Be kind.
