Consult-A-Kid @ Adelaide Fringe 2027

The world feels heavy and big and impossible right now. Consult-A-Kid is a show for adults that need a pep talk. A panel of kids aged 11-16 will take on some grown-up problems, offering their ideas, insight and encouragement. Sign up to submit your own problem or buy a ticket to sit in the audience and see how it goes.

We’re all looking for an adultier-adult to be the responsible one and tell us what to do next.  Maybe instead we should be asking our inner kids?

Taking inspiration from Kid President and the work of Mammalian Diving Reflex, Consult-A-Kid is a new show in development by young people from Peterborough. Consult-A-Kid is led by 12yo Xander with support from adult facilitators Alysha and Nic through weekly sessions at Maybe Makers. See below for some insight into the process so far.

Xander running the start of a creative development session.
Some of the team experimenting with Consult-A-Kid explanation/pitch back in June. Chaos ensues.
Xander talking with the rest of the young cast & crew about his experience working with Will as part of Carclew’s Playmakers program (and why they want Will for Consult-A-Kid).
Nic teaching some of the gang about how a sound desk works.
