Let’s Talk: Writing

Have you always wanted to write a story, but have no idea where to start? Well, is this the month for you?!

My name is Kirste — yes, me again, hi — I’m a digital illustrator and writer based in Barmera. I’m on my own journey to rewrite my first novel, Violet.

So, why am I here?

Part of Things has given me the opportunity to talk about something for a whole month. Something that would stimulate and nurture a creative Riverland, and bring them together.

We’re talking all things writing!

For four weeks, I’ll be bringing you resources I’ve found helpful in my time writing, personal experiences and a couple of fun tasks to stretch your creative muscles. There will be a different focus each week — starting tomorrow (later today?) with ideas and inspiration!

I constantly encounter hiccups while writing. I find it comforting hearing from others in the industry and considering new angles to tackle my novel. I know I’m not the only one. This is about coming together, sharing experiences, sharing resources, and lending a hand to our creative peers.

Whether you’ve never written a story before, or a writing-world veteran, we hope you’ll all find something new and helpful to your journeys.
