2023 Program

A record of our 2023 activities.

Key Activities

This year we continued working with the community minded and hard-working crew of Our Town Berri. Together we launched Dear Berri back in April, which together with last year’s Our Mini Historians forms the #OurStories project. Also this year we’ve been working with Our Town Berri to employ Kirste Vandergiessen as their communications person (you might recognise Kirste from other Part of Things adventures). Kirste has been doing a fabulous job putting together Our Town Berri’s new regular newsletter and making beautiful content for social media, along with other behind the scenes support. This particular collaboration has used the financial resources of Our Town Berri with the legal structure and systems of Part of Things to enable Kirste’s employment, while Our Town Berri finishes setting up some of their internal systems and new legal structure. This is just one example of the work we’re doing that isn’t always visible on the surface.

Also this year we presented our fourth (!) SALA exhibition, which featured artists from Whyalla, Port Lincoln, Mount Gambier, Adelaide, Barmera and Renmark. You can read about all of the artists and view photos of the exhibition in situ here.

We’ve continued to be the Wednesday hub for Delving Around Gamez, and hosted a range of other regular and one-off activities, including a term of Riverland Youth Theatre‘s 3rd Place program.

We still had our co-working desks available for ongoing or ad-hoc hire, and were (slowly) adding to the online Knowledge Hub we launched in 2021, including these grantwriting tips & tricks from Alysha.

And here’s a reminder of (most of) what we got up to in 2022.

We are small but mighty and really proud of the impact we’ve had since opening the doors in 2019.

Be Part of Things

Various | Ongoing

All the other bits Part of Things does: co-working, space hire, mentoring & producing.

All year round (even when our other programs are dormant) Part of Things is available as a space to run your own workshops, meetings and projects. We also have co-working desks available on a pay-what-you-can basis and we can offer bespoke mentoring and producing services to support your big ideas.

Check out our Hire Space page for info on using the space and get in touch with us via the Contact page for mentoring and producing queries. There is no one size fits all so working together always starts with a conversation to see what you need and how we can help.
