SALA exhibition 2023: Flower, Fruit, and Flood, My Dear

The Barefoot Playground @ Part of Things (Hawdon Chambers, Barwell Avenue Barmera)

This is our fourth SALA exhibition at Part of Things, and the theme is inspired by the traditional four year anniversary gift of flowers or fruits, combined with our recent Riverland experience of flooding. The theme is a provocation and should not be taken literally or used prescriptively when viewing the works.

Each of the participating artists have creatively responded to the theme by thinking beyond the obvious and exploring their own practice, the ethos of Part of Things, and what the theme provocation has unexpectedly unlocked.

The exhibition features a mix of entirely new works and some previously completed and/or reimagined works. Artists in the exhibition come from Adelaide, the Riverland, Whyalla and Port Lincoln.
